Good news!
I’m happy to report that the pirated scans of our Famous Artists Course have been removed from the website that was offering them. Leif Peng, who writes a blog called Today’s Inspiration about illustration art, posted a very apt entry about this situation yesterday. Here’s the link to his post. Thanks to everyone who appreciates the value of the Famous Artists Course materials and supports our efforts to protect their integrity.
I’ve read this situation with interest for the last day or so. As mentioned in the comments in the last post, there is a great opportunity in front of you now that you know there is an interest in those old 1950s/ 1960s course books.
I’m sure that repackaging and selling them as coffee table books, or even simple illustration books will show a market for it. I know I’d hit the bookstore the second they’d become available.
I’m sure your company has already considered something simple like this, but I thought it might be good for at least one admirer of the old books to let you know he’d be interested in something like that.
