You are a “Class of One”
The art training you’ll receive as a Famous Artists School student is just like private tutoring. You have skilled professional artists guiding you every step of the way. You work at home—
at your own pace and following your own timetable. Your richly illustrated textbooks are skillfully organized to help you progress smoothly through the basic and advanced steps you must master to achieve self-fulfillment as an artist.
Studying in your own home and in your spare time has many advantages. You don’t lose any time traveling back and forth to class. You don’t have to drop your pencil or brush when time is up, leaving your picture unfinished. There are no distractions—nothing to keep you from drawing or painting when you feel like it. You are on your own schedule, setting a pace that’s right for you. If you like to work slowly and thoroughly, you needn’t rush to keep up with a class. If you work quickly, you don’t have to slow down to someone else’s pace. And you work in surroundings where you are at your creative best.
Each member of the Instruction staff at Famous Artists School is a successful professional artist with outstanding credits and experience. Also, each of them is a gifted teacher of art—able to relate to your special needs.
As they work with you in your Course, you will quickly discover that their knowledge of art comes not just from theory, but from actual experience. In addition to devoting some of their time to teaching and helping students, instructors have their own professional careers. This makes their advice dynamic, fresh, and focused clearly on the requirements of the contemporary field of art.
For each section of your Course, there are Home Projects and Assignments you send in to Famous Artists School for your instructor’s critique and evaluation. After studying the designated pages of your textbook, you complete the Lesson Assignment following the clear, step-by-step instructions. When you have finished, you send your work to the School in the convenient protective mailer provided.
The drawings and paintings you send to us are assigned to an Instructor who is a specialist in the area of art you are studying. After reviewing your work and your Student Record, your instructor makes drawings or paintings showing you how to improve your picture. Next, your instructor writes you a detailed letter, giving you personal guidance and encouragement. While working with your Assignment, your instructor gives your work and your needs his or her undivided attention. You are truly “a Class of One.”
