FAS Student: Otis Simmons
From the time in high school when I won a gold key for poster design in a competition that included works of art by young art students from Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, I have been fascinated by art.
The sheer excitement of seeing rich, vivid colors come to life on canvas has always given me joy and personal fulfillment. This is why, when I retired from teaching music, I looked around for a home-study course that could improve my artistic potential and lead to a profitable career in art.
From my beginning lessons with Famous Artists School, to the more advanced ones that I am enrolled in today, I have been genuinely impressed with the thorough step-by-step instructional format of each lesson and by the personal touch of the faculty.
My instructor, Hank McLaughlin, is representative of the teaching philosophy of the Famous Artists School. That is, he provides me with a sort of private tutoring, by carefully drawing and painting on overlays of my work that show me how to improve my picture. He follows this up with an instructive letter that gives personal guidance and encouragement.
This whole experience with Famous Artists School is such a reassuring one, knowing that you are being thoroughly and competently trained by instructors who are themselves accomplished artists.
Whether or not you wish to pursue art as a full-time or part-time career, you should consider enrolling in the exciting courses provided by the Famous Artists School faculty. You are sure to enjoy the experience!
