FAS Alumna: Julinya Vidigal DeVince

Julinya Vidigal DeVince

I have exhibited and sold my paintings all over the world. People say I am an internationally renowned artist. I’d like to think so. Recently, I wrote to FAS because I sincerely wanted the school to know that I never forgot how they paved my way to a very successful career in my chosen field.

Now that I also teach, I know the importance of having great teachers. I want FAS to know how their advice and patience affected my advancement at that early and formative time in my life. My family had to move back to Brazil at the time, and although my parents were able to afford the best schools for us, I did not find what I really felt would teach me to draw and paint like the masters I admired. I loved Walt Disney, Norman Rockwell, and other Americans that did the posters and advertisements of the 60’s. I remember how I anxiously awaited each of the lessons and later their reviews and comments. As soon as I started receiving the lessons and critiques from FAS, I knew that I had touched gold and this would be the very first step towards my long and successful art career.

I have since lived in Italy, and France, always enriching my art curriculum in the best art schools and with the best art masters. In my studio, besides doing my original paintings, I work on special commissioned art projects from landscape to portraits. I am also consulted by art collectors, universities, and I jury art exhibits. A couple of days a week I also teach beginners to very advanced artists who are already successful with their own paintings and careers.

I’d love for you to visit my web site, http://www.julinya.com, and take a look at the wonderful works of art I am able to create, mainly because of FAS’s early teachings to this humble student of art.
