How the Famous Artists School began

Famous Artists School was the result of a vision. Albert Dorne, one of America's most successful and prolific commercial artists, dreamed of "an art school for everyone – everywhere."

Dorne knew there were many people with artistic talent and the desire to succeed in art. All they needed was the right kind of training, and the wonderful world of art would be open to them. Dorne shared his vision with Norman Rockwell, and they were joined by other well-known artists, each with a special field: Stevan Dohanos, Robert Fawcett, Ben Stahl, Harold Von Schmidt, Al Parker, Austin Briggs, Jon Whitcomb, Peter Helck, Fred Ludekens, and John Atherton.

These celebrated artists combined their years of experience to create a unique Art Course to impart their priceless studio secrets. The result of their collaboration became known as the Famous Artists method. This revolutionary method of study capitalizes on your own talent and imagination, and gives you the tools to develop and use what you have – by means of a process that's easy and rewarding!
