The Outstanding Artists of Our Guiding Faculty Since its founding, Famous Artists School has always relied on the advice and support of established, successful artists. These artists have contributed their fresh ideas and demonstrations to our teaching methods. Bernard Fuchs After graduating from the Washington University School of Fine Arts in St. Louis, Missouri, Fuchs met with immediate fame while painting at the New Center Studio in Detroit, Michigan. He has painted sensitive portraits of John F. Kennedy during his Presidency that now hang in the permanent collection in the Kennedy Library in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His commissions also include the portraits of President Lyndon Johnson, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, as well as other such notables as Martin Luther King, Queen Elizabeth, Bob Hope, Katharine Hepburn, Arnold Palmer and Muhammad Ali. Robert Heindel is one of the most illustrious graduates of Famous Artists School. In the last twenty years, he has become known as a modern-day Degas for his paintings evoking the many facets of the world of ballet. Franklin McMahon is an artist-reporter whose work takes him all over the world. He works directly from his subjects whenever possible, so his work has a look of on-the-spot credibility. Charles Reid is an outstanding artist, teacher and author known around the world, and an alumnus of Famous Artists School. As a teenager, he was one of the youngest students ever accepted by FAS, and later served as an FAS instructor. He has authored eight books on painting which are directed toward students at all levels.
